A work-in-progress exhibition presenting the works of third year students from Fontys ARTCODE. They focus their artistic research on personal experiences of loneliness and solitude. Using visual, spatial, and performative elements, they translate those experiences into immersive installations
presentation of an artistic research on loneliness and solitude
Dutch Design Week forms a middle point in this 14-week studio project and will be the first time students exhibit their work. Using what they learned at DDW, the project concludes with a second exhibition at the Night of the Arts in December.

Warda
‘Listen to the People’ is an art project designed by four creative students from Fontys Higher Education of Arts. It addresses intriguing stories of discrimination in which feelings of social injustice and the reasonable need to be heard. The artistic mirrors are an abstract connotation of emotions from the people who have recounted their experience. We have visualized someone's heartfelt emotions while sharing their firsthand account with discrimination. If you listen carefully, you might intuitively recognize what they have experienced. We listened and thoughtfully designed with the courageous people in mind.
Consept made by Warda Oukari
What does the experience of discrimination do to the concept of sef? Can how we talk, share and reflect on our own experiences shape the self concept within our identity?
Every prototype represents a possible identity for someone who experienced discrimination, based on how the share and reflect on their personal experience.

ODE TO MATIRIAL LUST
This project is a line of products inspired by the New York based studio Matirial Lust. Warda use them to design a line products. Each product is made in the workplaces that are available at Fornty’s. These are the following workspaces: Wood, metal, printshop and textile. Her technique for designing these products was to draw as many shapes as possible and combine them each product symbolises part of redeveloping myself.

LIGHT UP
As a child Waarda loved to give a fashion show for her parents, in her new outfit or her fathers clothes and/or shoes. Her mother bought all kinds of outfits, and when she came home she would dress Warda and Warda wanted to show her father how she looked. Sometimes she would climb on the table and pose or would walk up and down as if she was on a catwalk. She remember how happy her father was during this time, complimenting her and how her mother would proudly take pictures. In her mothers photo album she found picteurs of several leather outfits she had worn as a young girl. There was also found a photo where Warda was wearing a green leather outfit with her father's leather jacket over it.
